FAQ'S
When and where is the market? August 3 + 4, 2024 @ the iconic and newly renovated Danceland in Clear Lake Country (Wasagaming, MB)
How do I apply? Applications are open to all vendors across Canada and available through our website. Once live, you will submit the application form online. You DO NOT need to create a vendor login to access the application. That Login is only for approved market vendors. Applications will run March 11-18, 2024.
Who can apply? We accept applications from all over Canada. Our market is comprised of vendors who provide goods to be sold. We do not accept service based businesses.
What categories of vendors do you accept? Accessories (ex. scrunchies, hair clips, bags/purses) Art + Illustration (ex. original art work, prints) Baby + Kids Bath + Body (ex. lotion, soap, bath bombs, etc.) Beauty + Wellness (ex. essential oils, makeup, beard oil, etc) Candles Clothing (ex. sweaters, tshirts, underwear, etc.) Food + Drink Housewares (serving trays, decor, etc.) Jewelry Multi-store - This option is for those vendors who carry a variety of goods and fall within multiple categories (ex. clothing + housewares + accessories) Pet Plants + Garden Stationery We do not accept applications selling vintage/antique items for re-sale such as furniture + clothing. Though we love this movement, this is a market showcasing independent designer’s work. * We reserve the right to ask you not to bring certain products due to over saturation. *No maker holds a monopoly on a category, applications are always juried based on acceptance criteria.
What are the booth sizes and fees? 7ft long x 5ft wide - $350 14ft triangle - $450 15ft long x 5ft wide - $450 L shape - 15ft x 5ft x 5ft - $475 *fees do not include GST
What is included in the booth fee? Your booth fee guarantees your chosen booth size and marketing of your brand. We pride ourselves on our top-notch promotion of the market and our amazing vendors. We utilize many forms of traditional advertising and social media marketing to do so. Your company name will appear on our website. We DO NOT provide tables or chairs. The venue does not have WIFI. Please have a large cash float and consider bringing a POS system that can work offline or via satellite.
Is there WIFI? NO! We are in Clear Lake Country and the wifi connection is very weak. With all of the visitors over the long weekend and multuple vendors trying to access the WIFI, it can be very hit or miss. We suggest going into the weekend prepared for no WIFI. Our team uses as a POS system called a Clover that works off of satellite and does not require WIFI or a cell phone signal. This may be something you want to look into investing into for yourself and future shows.
What are the booth/display requirements? Every vendor is responsible for their full booth display. We require that each vendor has some sort of a 'backdrop'. A backdrop ties the look, vibe, and esthetic of your brand and booth. It helps the shopper identify you. You can display your signs, products with shelving, etc., to help elevate your space. Your backdrop should be creative and reflect your brand. Backdrops are to be no less than 6ft high and no higher than 8ft. The width/length ranges from 6-20ft long depending on the size of the booth you've selected. Any supports for your backdrop MUST also fit within your allotted booth space. Side walls are optional.
Is there electrical? Electrical access is limited and is reserved for vendors who require it for their products that need refridgeration or cooling.
When is load IN/OUT? Load IN is the afternoon of Friday, August 2nd. Load OUT takes place immediately after the market on Sunday, August 4th.
What are the payment and cancellation dates? April 3rd - Booth selection opens up @ 10am April 9th - Booth payment + contract due April 30th @ 5pm CDT - cancel and receive refund less $50 admin fee May 15th @ 5pm CDT - cancel and receive refund less $75 admin fee. Where can I stay? Accommodations within Clear Lake Country book up extremely fast for the long weekend. If you are considering applying, we HIGHLY suggest you book accommodations NOW, in anticipation of getting accepted. Familiarize yourself with the cancellation dates and policies and in the event that you do not get accepted you can cancel your reservation. Many makers also find accommodations outside of the park, such as Onanole, Erickson, Minnesdosa, Neepawa, or even Brandon. You can also look at cabin or airbnb rentals.
What do I do if I have items still in production, not ready or photographed at the time of applications? If you have a collection that is not yet in production you may upload past photos (please show us ones you have not yet applied with in the past). However we do ask that you EMAIL us at hello@thirdandbird.com right after you apply showing us your prototypes with a brief explanation so the jury knows what to fully accept. Please put in subject line: COMPANY NAME + PROTOTYPE
Do I have to have a hand in the creation or design of the product? Yes! Vendor involvement in the design process is crucial and mandatory. While outsourcing components world wide is common, we require a vendor to contribute to the design and/or assembly of the product. This collaborative approach allows businesses to leverage design creativity and production efficiency effectively.
